Canada wants Rakhine access
By publishing a satellite photo earlier this month, Human Rights Watch said at least 700 homes were burnt down by Myanmar's army. They also urged Myanmar to give independent observer an opportunity to work. The Canadian Foreign Minister said, Canada will seek Rakhine access to monitor the situation. Earlier, on 13 September, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau expressed deep concern for ongoing violence against Rohingya Muslims and other minor ethnic groups in Myanmar's Rakhine state. He expressed this concern by calling the top leader of Myanmar ruling party and the country's state party Aung San Suu Kyi. During this time, he emphasized on the role of Suu Kyi as a moral and political leader in the ongoing situation. AP / JH
