Location program in Geneva to stop the Rohingya repression
The program is being organized by the All-European Association of Bangladesh (AWA), the main community organization of Bangladeshi nationals in 30 countries of Europe in Geneva, Switzerland.
According to the pre-programmed program of Aiba, Bangladeshis from different European countries including Switzerland and participants participated in peaceful protests and positions in front of UN Regional Headquarters in Geneva.
In the rally, the Awami general secretary Kazi Enayet Ullah urged the Bangladesh community of different countries to call the same protests in front of the Parliament House of Europe including European Union (EU) headquarters of Brussels.
As part of the program, the leaders of the United Nations Regional Headquarters Human Rights Affairs Officer Mr. Sanjay Franca Filho organized an official meeting with the Secretary General Kazi Enayet Ullah in the morning.
In the meeting, the officials of the civil society unit informed the leaders of the Awami League about the steps taken by the UN Human Rights Office on the Rohingya issue. A special memorandum containing a call for taking stringent action against Myanmar was handed over to UN officials. On behalf of the IAEA, the permanent representative of the UN Regional Headquarters in Geneva and the Bangladesh mission chief ambassador to Geneva M Shameem Ahsan met in the formal meeting after noon.
Ameja Chowdhury and Nazrul Jamadar, two community personalities of Geneva, including Vice-President Fakrul Akom Selim, Public Relations Affairs Secretary Kamal Mia, Executive Member Rahman Khalilur, Imran Khan Murad, Hasan Mahmud and Moinul Islam Nasim were present in the delegation.
